OhCreators

Creator Guidelines

Last updated 29 October 2026

Draft for review: this document has not yet been checked by a Ghanaian lawyer and may change before full launch.

Simple rules for promoting businesses honestly and safely in Ghana. Businesses booking creators should follow them too.

1. Always say when it's paid

If a business paid you, gave you free products or any benefit, tell your audience clearly. Use #ad, #sponsored or "Paid partnership with…" at the start of the caption or in the video, not hidden among other hashtags.

Honest disclosure protects your reputation and your audience's trust.

2. Only promise what's true

Do not make claims about a product you cannot back up, such as cures, guaranteed results or fake before-and-after photos. Share your genuine experience.

3. Products that need extra care

Food, drinks, cosmetics, skincare, medicines, herbal products and food supplements often need approval from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) Ghana before they can be advertised. Ask the business for proof of registration or approval before you promote them.

Alcohol, betting and financial or investment products have extra advertising rules. Do not target children with them. Do not promote get-rich-quick, pyramid or unlicensed investment schemes.

If in doubt, decline the job or report it to us.

4. Honest profile and stats

Your follower counts, engagement and portfolio must be your own and accurate. Buying followers or editing screenshots is not allowed. Verified stats on OhCreators show the date they were checked.

5. Respect people and rights

Get permission before filming people, especially children. Only use music, images or logos you have the right to use.

6. Keep work and payments on OhCreators

Agree and pay through OhCreators so the booking is recorded and covered by our dispute process. Deals made on WhatsApp, calls or elsewhere are at your own risk.

7. Tax

Income from creator work may be taxable. You are responsible for registering with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), getting a Ghana Card-linked TIN, and declaring your income. OhCreators does not give tax advice; speak to a tax professional if unsure.

8. What happens if rules are broken

Anyone can report a creator or listing. Reports are reviewed by a person before any action. Depending on what we find, we may ask for changes, hide a listing or restrict an account.
